BIOGRAPHY
I'm a twenty six year-old New York based artist. I received my BFA from the School of Visual Arts, in New York City and studied paintings in Paris, France, and Florence, Italy. Upon graduation I returned to Italy, for a year, to further pursue my painting, where I adopted Renaissance Painting techniques into my work, including the “sight size method” and glazing techniques. I paint with oil on white mahogany wood panels, beginning with an umber under -painting, building layer upon layer of color glazes, creating the illusion of light.
Afflicted with wander lust, I created a body of work documenting my travels abroad in cities such as, Venice, Rome, Brussels, and Amsterdam. Upon returning to the United States, I became increasingly fascinated with the Southwest, traveling to New Mexico, creating an entirely new series of landscape paintings, unlike any of the work I painted before.
I have recently been awarded the Frank Dumomd Award for Outstanding Work at the Salmagundi Club. As well as participation in the New York Foundation For the Arts M.A.R.K program.
